The Coupe de Spa was part of the Belgian Touring Car Championship calendar held on 6 May 1972. The AMG, once again painted in red, was entered as car #2 and driven by Hans Heyer, and qualified 11th on the grid. However, the car is listed in the results as DNF (Did Not Finish), although other results show it as DNS (Did Not Start).
